Detoxaholic is back with the weekly #YYT (Yummy Yeah Tuesday) celebration! This week nominees are two young iconic moguls that are positively shifting the images and demographic of Silicon Valley, branding, and social media. Oh, and they’re cocoa brown good looks are just the cherry on top of their blazing mass appeal amongst the millennial generation.
The first YYT nominee is the beautiful mega-mogul Karen Civil. Karen’s multifaceted entertainment, music, and lifestyle brand is far from an overnight success story. She began building a successful career in online branding and social media management for reputable companies such as Diplomat Records and Beats by Dre. This Elizabeth, NJ native hustled her way to the top by taking all of her natural talents and work experience into launching two of her own successful websites. One site is www.karencivil.com, which is an entertainment site that provides insight into the hip hop industry where audiences can discover new artists and trends before hitting pop culture media platforms. The second site is www.livingcivil.com, which is a lifestyle and beauty site gears towards women, where Karen provides a more intimate dialogue with her followers and inspire women to always follow their dreams with hard work and dedication. To stay informed on Karen Civil’s prospering empire, follow her via her Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
The next nominee is the clean cut, Silicon Valley hustler, Tristan Walker. This Queens, NY native showcased to the world his tech guru capabilities during his position as head of business development at Foursquare where he garnered the company hundreds of partnerships with major companies such as American Express, BravoTV and many more. After transitioning from his position at Foursquare, Tristan created his own company called Walker & Co. His goal is to gear his steadily growing company into a Proctor & Gamble for people of color. The company’s first product is Bevel, which is a single-blade razor system geared towards men of color with thick, coarse and curly hair to provide a smooth shave free of shaving bumps and scars. I am an avid listener of many podcasts that are a part of the Loud Speakers Network such as The Read, Brilliant Idiots, The Combat Jack show, The Friend Zone and hundreds more. I never heard of bevel or their advertisements until I started listening to these popular podcast shows. Tristan has LSN on lock with his bevel ads, and I love how each podcast show can give their own personalized ad and review of the product which awesomely strays away from formulated ad scripts that can be on heard on popular radio stations. I love how Tristan is very conscious of his audience and how he is uniquely preparing his company for the present and future generations. To stay up-to-date with Tristan Walker’s historical platform follow via his website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and Tumblr.
