Detoxaholic is back with the weekly #YYT (Yummy Yeah Tuesday) celebration! This week nominees are two new school artists that are sending out groovy waves with their quiet sex appeal and distinctive brand of soul music.
The first YYT nominee is singer/songwriter and brunette beauty Coco O. Along with musician and producer, Robin Hannibal; she is one-half of the Danish, Los Angeles-based duo band called Quadron. Quadron came onto the scene back in 2009 with their first self-titled album, and their 2nd album entitled Avalanche, was released in 2013. They have been capturing worldwide audiences with their signature electronic soul sound. Both members are also solo artists and have much collaboration with other bands and producers under their belts. Presently, Coco O has a new solo single that I’m digging hard on that’s entitled “Hardest Thing”. The California, easy breezy track has a 70s nostalgic and soulful vibe, and Coco’s smooth voice is the cherry on top! You can check out this cool tune on her SoundCloud page. The next nominee is very handsome Mr. Sam Dew. We were first introduced to Sam from his feature vocals on superstar rapper, Wale, smash hit track entitled “LoveHate Thing”. This Chicago-bred singer/songwriter has penned tracks for artists such as Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, and more. His debut album entitled Damn Sue was released in April 2015 and executive produced by super producer Dave Sitek of the Indie rock band TV on the Radio. Sam is currently on tour with TV on the Radio, and is enticing audiences with his genre-less yet soulful music. His musical inspirations are Outkast, Timberland, Curtis Mayfield, Earth, Wind & Fire, and everything in between. To preview and sample Sam Dew’s debut album, visit via ITunes.
